Visit Us

St Katharine Cree is one of the City of London's best-kept secrets. A church that has stood on this site since the twelfth century, survived the Great Fire, and served the workers of the City ever since. Its architecture is unlike anything else in London: the capital's only Jacobean church, consecrated in 1631. Behind its unassuming exterior lies a space full of stories, hidden treasures, and centuries of history.

We'd love to welcome you in.

The church and garden are open at the following times: Tuesdays 8:30am - 3pm, Thursdays 11am - 3pm (hosted by the Friends of the City Churches), Fridays 10am - 3pm. Please note that the garden is only accessible from Mitre Street and not through the church. If you are making a special trip to visit the church please get in touch with us to confirm.

Come on a Tour

We offer small-group guided tours for up to 20 people: ideal for a team lunch, a work outing, or any group with a curiosity about the City and its history. Each tour lasts around an hour and includes complimentary tea and coffee. Every visit features something special brought out from our collection: an object, an artefact, or a hidden corner of the building that most visitors never see.

Whether you work around the corner or have been curious about us for years, we'd be delighted to show you around.

You can book onto one of our monthly open tours below or arrange a special tour for your colleagues, history or U3A group, friends or family by contacting the Church Office.
